Otto & Associates, Inc., an independent financial planning firm, is committed to safeguarding the confidential information of its clients. We hold all personal information provided to our firm in the strictest confidence. These records include all personal information that we collect from you in connection with any of the services provided by Otto & Associates, Inc. We never disclose information to nonaffiliated third parties, except as we believe it necessary for the conduct of our business, or where disclosure is required by law. Our policy with respect to personal information about you is listed below.
 

The categories of nonpublic personal information that we collect from you include information about your personal finances, employment, health, or other personal characteristics as well as transactions between you and others.

• We limit employee access to information only to those who have a business or professional reason for knowing.

• We maintain a secure office and computer environment to ensure that your information is not placed at unreasonable risk.

• We may disclose any information when we believe it necessary for the conduct of our business, or where disclosure is required by law.  For example, information may be disclosed to unaffiliated third parties that perform services for us or our clients.  One example of when we would disclose personal information is when we are assisting a client in the purchase of life insurance.  Another example is when we give Schwab personal information required to open an investment account.

• For unaffiliated third parties that require access to your personal information, including financial service companies and consultants, we expect them to keep this information private. Such companies may provide you with their own Privacy Statements.  Federal and state regulators also may review firm records as permitted under law.

• We do not provide your information to other companies who may want to sell their products or services to you.

• Personally identifiable information about you will be maintained during the time you are a client, and after you have ceased to be a client, should you decide to terminate your relationship with Otto & Associates, Inc.

YOUR RIGHT TO OPT OUT

If you prefer that we not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties, you have the right to opt out of those disclosures. However, it is likely that Otto & Associates will be very limited in the degree to which we can manage your account(s).
